Who needs cover

Sex

Still needed to continue: your date of birth, your sex, your country of residence, your nationality.

Dependants

Benefits you need, Deductible/Excess and Co-pay

In-patient cover is included on every plan we compare. Beyond that, tap any benefits you want and we'll only show plans that include them all — leave them off to see every plan.

Deductible / Excess

No minNo max

Drag both ends to set the excess range you'd accept. A higher excess lowers your premium — you pay the first part of a claim yourself. How it applies varies by insurer — annually (e.g. Expacare on all benefits; IMG on in- and out-patient treatment), in-patient only (e.g. Optimum Global, Pacific Cross), or per condition (Expatriate Group); your comparison states each plan's own basis.

Co-pay

A co-pay means you pay that percentage of each claim yourself, in exchange for a lower premium. We apply it to the plans whose insurer offers that level; the others are still included, unchanged.

Medical history (optional)

Is there any medical history we should work around?

Underwriting (optional)
Lifestyle & BMI (optional)

Entering these is optional, but it helps us price more accurately and can open up better rates and underwriting options with some insurers — height and weight (BMI) affect Optimum Global's pricing and HCI Protector-21 moratorium eligibility, and your lifestyle answers affect Expacare's premiums. One column per person — you and every dependant you've added above.

Expacare re-prices on these answers. If you fill them in, the Expacare premium in your comparison is calculated from your own profile rather than a cautious standard one — which is usually cheaper. Leave them blank and we quote the standard assumption instead.

Height and weight are used together to calculate BMI automatically. Nothing here is required — leave any field blank. Tip: 1 pint of beer = 2.5 alcohol units, 1 bottle of wine = 10 units.
